Counselling with Rich
Welcome
Life truly has the power to be amazing. It’s hard to deny the beauty in life’s special moments: the warmth of a summer sunset, the comfort of a favourite meal freshly made, or the joy of seeing a long-missed friend’s smile.
Yet, alongside these moments of happiness, life is not always easy. We all face ups and downs, highs and lows, moments of triumph and times of struggle.
Even when everything seems to be going smoothly, there’s often a gentle whisper inside reminding us that this peace may be fleeting and that life’s next challenge may be just around the corner.
Life can be amazing
Most of the time, we all find ways to navigate life’s ups and downs, taking the rough with the smooth.
We lean on the support of family and friends, draw from hard-earned life experience, and tap into our inner strength to keep going.
But there are moments in everyone’s life when things become overwhelming. When challenge after challenge leaves us feeling exhausted and weighed down; it can feel like too much to handle on our own.
How can I help?
This is when speaking with a qualified therapist can make all the difference, offering the support you need to get back on your feet and regain control of your life. However, finding the right counsellor is really important.
As a person-centred counsellor, I provide a warm, gentle and compassionate space where you can feel truly heard and supported. With an integrative approach, I draw on various counselling styles, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA), tailoring them to fit your unique needs. My extensive experience with Mindfulness practice allows me to blend Eastern and Western approaches to support your well-being and healing journey.

Face to Face
We can meet in person at my counselling rooms in Child Okeford or Ibberton, which provide a safe and confidential space away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Here we can explore your thoughts, feelings, actions and relationships allowing you to become more self aware and then able to make changes.
Whatever you wish to share with me, I will always listen deeply and respond without judgement.
Online and by Phone
Life can be very busy and sometimes it is not possible to fit everything in. To help with this, I also offer telephone and online counselling.
Some clients simply feel more comfortable working in this way, whilst others request a telephone or Zoom call occasionally.
Whatever your preference, we will work together to empower you to find your own solutions to the issues that are troubling you.
In the Fresh Air
Nature can be incredibly healing and counselling in the fresh air on a sunny day can be particularly powerful.
If you would be interested in working in the outdoors, sometimes called 'walk and talk', please let me know and we can arrange to meet at my counselling space at Ibberton and access the extensive gardens there.
On rainy days, we can also take shelter in my counselling room in the newly refurbished chapel.
